TRON 3 will maybe feature a character no one remembers, trailer attached to TRON: LEGACY DVD
Why do nerds always have to make me feel less superior than them? I'm obviously superior, I've kissed ladies and wear glasses only for fashion. So when I read about some hot ticket news item that make me feel left out because I wasn't nerdy enough to notice some non-important Easter egg in a movie, I get mad. So mad I might have to give someone a swirly!
This time around I'm referencing the TRON franchise and the possibility of a small character retuning for the third film in the series. According to AICN, TRON: LEGACY will have a trailer for TRON 3 attached to the DVD release. In this trailer, a small character from TRON pops up as an integral piece to the possible plot of TRON 3. Too many hypotheticals making your head spin? Read on for more details about the "trailer."
Here's AICN's description of the scenes which will play as a mini-trailer for TRON 3.
One includes Bruce Boxleitner (as Alan) and Dan Shor (as Ram). Turns out that "Ram" was apparently running the FLYNN LIVES campaign and he's frantically destroying all of that data and files, as Alan confronts him. Dan apparently utters the line, "Why did Kevin give you the cool name" - which means to my way of thinking that after Flynn came out of the Grid, he sought out the human soul of Ram and befriended him and started calling him RAM - you know - some geek that wrote that Actuarial Program that helped people plan for the future. I sorta love that. And love that the kindness Flynn showed this lowly geek, apparently created a gung ho champion for the life and memory of Kevin Flynn.
Another has Quora showing up to ENCOM and getting accosted by the press because she's riding Sam's Ducati - and states that she just spoke with Kevin Flynn, yesterday!
The last scene that was shot in this mini-shoot involved text screens where you see the Father & Son... The Dillingers stating that everything is going as planned.
So, essentially this "trailer" (which seems more like three post-credit deleted scenes) are major revelations about TRON 3's plot direction. That's cool. But really all I want to do it punch some nerds for making me feel out of the loop. I don't want to think about a film like TRON, I just want to watch some 3D laser-ships fight each other in cyber-space while a dead-eyed CGI villain cackles in the background. Still, if you are a nerd you should read the rest of AICN's article for what all of this means. I'll be lifting weights and drinking Four Loko.
