The trailer for WAR HORSE debuts

Steven Spielberg’s upcoming war epic, WAR HORSE, is easily one of the year’s most anticipated titles. The novel on which it’s based was a smash, and the stage play just recently picked up five Tony Awards, including the all-important Best Play prize, so the pedigree for the project so far is nothing but promising, even if you’re not including Spielberg in the picture.

We’ve seen some photos from the film, but up until now we haven’t seen any trailers. Thankfully, the U.S. trailer, which can be seen after the break, has just debuted, and to put it briefly, it’s absolutely magical.

We see glimpses of gorgeous scenery and are also treated to some excellent music from the always-terrific John Williams. There’s hardly any dialogue in the trailer, but the brief moments that we do see brilliantly convey its story of love and loss.

It looks like Spielberg is on top of his game for this film, currently slated to hit theaters on December 28, 2011.
