UK trailer for PROMETHEUS is just as good as you would expect

2012 may be one of the most interesting years in some time when it comes to big budget blockbusters, but while Chris Nolan and comic book geeks may have issue with their darkest of knights not being mentioned, it may in fact be Ridley Scott’s upcoming return to sci-fi that appears to be this year’s strongest cash cow.

A new UK trailer for PROMETHEUS has hit, and while it lacks that major push that the latest domestic trailer had, it’s just as brooding, just as dark, and maybe even more impressive.

The film has been in the works for a while now, and while Scott’s latest output has been lackluster at best, this appears to have very much changed that.  The cast all look great, particularly Fassbender, who is set to have a career expanding turn here, and Theron looks great as what appears to be the closest thing to a lead that this film has.  Obviously playing up its loose connections to the ALIEN franchise, this film could be just what sci-fi needs right now.  A shot of dread and a shot of adrenaline right to the heart. I can’t wait.

What do you think?

About Joshua Brunsting

Born in the tiny Michigan city known as Holland, and raised in the even smaller city known as Saugatuck, I have been a film geek for the majority of my life, and have known film was my passion ever since the final frame of THE LION KING. I’m a romantic with a thing for 60’s pop music (preferably French), John Keats poems, and an even bigger thing for film noir. Currently a Journalism Major at Grand Valley State University, I am using my love of film, and my deathly, ninja-like, skill behind the keyboard to slowly take over the world. When I’m not writing about or watching film, I’m listening to music, particularly from the likes of TV on the Radio, Best Coast, and Semi Precious Weapons. I play the ukulele, and I also have a deep and intense love for Gustavo Santaolalla and Ennio Morricone, but then again, who doesn’t. I was drum major for my high school marching band for two years, I’m one of the four people who actually watched Dollhouse, and my favorite film of all time is Godard’s BREATHLESS. I’m a wannabe screenwriter, a wild thing, a nerd, a geek, and most importantly, I’m a lover of film. Oh, and I want to be Captain Planet when I grow up.
