UNDERWORLD 4 gets a pair of directors

Well, color me upset, if not at all shocked.

Apparently the fourth film in the much maligned UNDERWORLD franchise will indeed see the light of day, and according to THR, it’s all thanks to the Swedish directing duo of Mans Marlin (greatest name ever?) and Bjorn Stein.

The two will direct the upcoming film, currently being set up by Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment, who have backed the previous films in the franchise. The two have had some experience, particularly the Julianne Moore film, SHELTER, which is still looking to find a domestic release here in the states.

Overall, I’m not at all excited about this film, but apparently a lot of people are, and the film will start production in March of 2011 in Vancouver. It will be based off of a script by John Hlavin, with revisions by (shockingly) J. Michael Straczynski. That last name definitely has me interested, but not even close enough to actually pony up the money to see the damn thing.
