Upcoming ALIEN prequel will be in 3D
It's been quite awhile since we first heard rumblings about an ALIEN prequel film. Shortly afterward, it was discovered that Ridley Scott, director of the original ALIEN, would be directing the film. Suddenly, all worry and fears were replaced with extreme excitement. It was a truly unexpected move, but such a great idea.
Today we have another expected move, as it's been revealed that this prequel will be in 3D, just like every other movie these days. Check out what Art Director Roger Christian had to say about the project after the jump!
"Ridley told me some of his ideas when we were here in Toronto. He has a very clear understanding of where this should go. They kind of stopped dead one of the greatest horror franchises there's ever been, and it had legs to go on. So I'm hoping he'll revive another three. The world certainly wants it, and the fans want it - everybody."
As far as the 3D confirmation goes, Christian aptly said, "Ridley's doing the next Alien in 3D."
I think that this is going to be the ALIEN movie everyone has been waiting for. Christian is totally right, there hasn't been a real ALIEN movie (that means I'm excluding ALIEN VS. PREDATOR), since 1997's ALIEN RESURRECTION. I think we are due a new ALIEN movie, and if Ridley wants to do it in 3D, I'm not going to complain.
