UPDATE: Could Kevin Costner be joining Zack Snyder’s SUPERMAN? CONFIRMED
UPDATE: Latino Review has revealed that Costner will play the role of Jonathan “Pa” Kent.
Kevin Costner has expressed interest in playing a lead role in Zack Snyder’s SUPERMAN reboot, according to Deadline. If Costner is cast, he would join Henry Cavill who recently was cast in the role of Clark Kent/Superman. This story is so new that there is currently no information available on the character Costner would play in the film.
It’s not known if he’ll play a good guy or a villain, but that should be announced soon enough. I personally hope it’s a hero, Costner is not well-suited to play a villain, so keep your fingers crossed.
The SUPERMAN reboot is being produced by by Christopher Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Deborah Snyder. David S. Goyer is penning the screenplay, based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. The film is scheduled to be released in December 2012.
What are your thoughts on the possibility of Costner starring in the film? What role would you like to see him take on?
