Viggo Mortensen thinks that EVERYONE HAS A PLAN

When news of Viggo Mortensen getting cast in a new film hits, I smile for two reasons: 1) one of the best actors of our time has just gotten a new role, and 2) also because it often comes hand in hand with a new David Cronenberg release.

Not this time.

According to an interview with Onetti (via The Playlist), the actor will be jumping aboard the upcoming project EVERYONE HAS A PLAN from Argentinean filmmaker, Ana Piterbarg.  The screenplay has been hotly talked about as the winner of the Julio Alejandro Screenplay award, and even netting Piterbarg $50,000 at the Malaga Film Festival in 2008.

This will not only mark Piterbarg’s directorial debut, but will mark a very personal return for Mortensen, as the actor lived in Argentina until he was 11. Shooting starts in the country sometime in 2011, and while not much is known about the film, it’s already one I’m really looking forward to.  I love directorial debuts, especially when they garner both buzz and a fantastic cast.  Here’s hoping the rest of the cast can fill out just as nicely.
