Vince Vaughn joins NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Over the past few years, the career of Vince Vaughn has hit a bit of a snag. With critical praise for most, if not all, of his films hitting a low, Vaughn may still be hotly sought after, but could use an interesting project to get of the snide.

And now, according to THR, he may have just found that project.

The outlet is reporting that Vaughn is currently in talks to join the new Ben Stiller comedy, NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.  he film has been in development for quite some time now, and will follow the story of a neighborhood watch group that “serves as a front for dads to get some male-bonding time away from their families. The group finds itself in over its head when it uncovers a plot to destroy the world.”

The kicker here is that Akiva Schaffer will be helming the project, with a script from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Personally, while I’m not a huge fan of Vaughn, at least of late, I’m a huge fan of the team of Rogen and Goldberg. It will be interesting to see what Stiller and Vaughn can do under the guidance of Schaffer, a director who made one of the funniest movies this writer has ever seen, HOT ROD.
