Vincent Gallo and Michael Madsen to star in LOOSIES
No film name may be synonymous with the title of shockjock than one Vincent Gallo. Whether it be receiving, cough, love, from Chloe Sevigny in the famed indie pile of pretentiousness known as THE BROWN BUNNY, or calling out Spike Jonze in one of the most legendary recent interviews, while being a gifted actor/director, he’s polarized much of the film world.
Well, he is set to join yet another similar entity, Michael Madsen, as according to THR, the two will team up with TWILIGHT’s own Peter Facinelli (one of the true saving graces of that franchise, by the way) in his upcoming film, LOOSIES.
The film was written by and will star Facinelli; the film follows a “New York City pickpocket who is confronted by a pregnant woman with whom he had a one-night stand.” Sounds interesting.
While I understand the gravely nature of both Gallo and Madsen and how that can rub people the wrong way, Gallo is truly a gifted filmmaker, and can be seen as a really strong actor. Look at films like BUFFALO ’66, which may be one of the stronger indie films that no one has seemed to see. While this in and of itself doesn’t sound intriguing really at all, the casting of Gallo, and knowing that Facinelli is behind the film, does really have me keeping a keen eye on this project.
