So this is still happening. WALL STREET is really getting a sequel. It's really called WALL STREET 2: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS. If that doesn't sound like the title of a straight-to-TNT (not even just DVD, not even just TV, right into the "Law and Order" channel) film, I don't know what does. But, as much as I might knock the silly title, the film is slapping together a pretty decent cast.

Michael Douglas is back as Gordon Gekko. Shia LaBeouf will play (presumably) our young Wall Street raider (your Gekko-redux). Frank Langella is in. And Josh Brolin is still negotiating joining the film. At least Oliver Stone is back directing, from Allen Loeb's script. Loeb, you hopefully don't know, wrote the screenplay for the upcoming Jennifer Aniston flick THE BASTER. There has to be some sort of joke here about similarities between films involving women trying to get pregnant and men trying to make money, but I'm clearly not smart enough to find it.

Today, we get our requisite LaBeouf love interest. And, wouldn't you know, it's Carey Mulligan! You may remember Miss Mulligan from such posts as "AN EDUCATION poster," previously seen right here on GATW earlier this week. Carey not only gets to knock lips with LaBeouf, she also gets to do it while playing Gekko's daughter!

What do you all think of this casting? Does this make WALL STREET 2: MY MONEY IS REALLY TIRED, OKAY? LET IT TAKE A NAP, JUST FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES! OKAY!! sound any better to you?
