A new clip has been circulating on the Internet from BEATS, RHYMES & LIFE: THE TRAVELS OF A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, the documentary that tells the story of the legendary hip hop group, A Tribe Called Quest. The film played at Sundance and has a lot of buzz and great reviews around it.

The documentary is directed by Michael Rapaport, who has had a ton of roles in Hollywood, none of which have really been allowed him to break out of his supporting character or guest star role. This is why I initially thought that this was a really odd pairing for a documentary, but this interview with our very own Chase Whale shed a very interesting light as to why Rapaport chose A Tribe Called Quest for his first foray into directing.

The one minute clip features band member Q-tip talking about the pressure coming off of their first album, into their sophomore album Low End Theory. He talks about how he kept calm during that period among all the theories and speculation. Check it out after the break.

The film will be playing at Tribeca Film Festival at the end of this month.
