There are few things that get me more excited than new collaborations that bring together two of my favorite things - film and music (which may explain why I keep talking about Kanye West). Today, I've got a treat for aficionados of music, short film narrative, and Jason Ritter. I know! Amazing things, right? One of my favorite local Los Angeles bands, Shadow Shadow Shade, has put together a short film called the WHITE HORSE trilogy that is one of the more ambitious takes on a music video from an indie mindset that you're like to see this year.

The short serves as an extended music video, combining three songs from their forthcoming album. It's directed by Michael Graham, produced by Aran Reo Mann, and stars Anna Wilson and Jason Ritter (a certified GATW favorite). The group describes it as "a post-apocalyptic epic short," so be ready for that. Formerly known as Afternoons, Shadow Shadow Shade truly has their own special brand of music. Best termed as atmospheric, moody chamber pop with operatic undertones, the outfit puts on one of the most genuinely joyful live shows in the city. And, they're clearly wildly creative. After the break, check out the WHITE HORSE trilogy, starring Jason Ritter!
