Web shooters confirmed for SPIDER-MAN reboot
Well, that didn’t take long at all.
According to an interview MTV, Emma Stone revealed that those tiny little silver discs on the wrists of her SPIDER-MAN co-star’s suit in the recently released photo of Andrew Garfield, in costume as Spidey, are indeed “a device,” confirming rumors that we may be seeing web shooters come the 2012 reboot.
Now, while I’m not one for relatively uninteresting news such as this, it does make the upcoming reboot a bit more compelling. I’ve always found Peter Parker’s web shooters as a way to bring some interesting action into the fold, with changes in type of webbing, and the like. Yes, I know, that may in fact be the geekiest thing anyone has ever said, but hey, what else would you expect.
Overall, this is really just a tiny bit of information that again proves this reboot is stepping out of the shadow of Sam Raimi’s beloved trilogy. Here’s to hoping we get a film half as good as Raimi’s debut in the franchise.
