The two will star in Taylor Hackford's thriller PARKER

News about Taylor Hackford’s thriller PARKER continues to come to light. Variety reports that Wendell Pierce and Clifton Collins Jr. will star in the film, which derives from Donald Westlake’s book series. Pierce is perhaps best known for HBO’s Treme; Collins has experienced steady work as a character actor, receiving an Emmy nod for his role in FX’s miniseries Thief.

PARKER focuses on a thief who sets his own honor code, killing when necessary but refusing to take money from those who can’t live without it. Jennifer Lopez and Jason Statham were previously announced to star in the film, which will be distributed by Film District.

The thriller is sounding more and more intriguing by the minute. Although the story is nothing new, Hackford being at the helm certainly helps. What’s more, the stellar cast put together thus far is becoming even more impressive now that Collins and Pierce are starring.

I rarely ever find myself looking forward to thrillers, but in regards to PARKER, I have to make an exception.
