the boy who never

As I mentioned in my review for the WHIP IT soundtrack HERE, Landon Pigg, who played Bliss’ (Ellen Page) love interest, doesn’t just play a boy in a band, he actually IS a boy in a band. If you dug his tune (“High Times”) on the soundtrack I have good news – Landon has recently released his second full-length album, “The Boy Who Never."

Unlike the indie rocker tune included on the soundtrack, Landon’s sophomore album is a bit more pop than rock and even hints on some jazz influences. You may have actually heard Landon before in "Grey's Anatomy" and "One Tree Hill" and his current single, “Falling In Love In A Coffee Shop," will probably sound familiar.

I found myself really enjoying this album and hitting the replay button once it ended. Landon kicks it up a notch from your normal boy-with-a-guitar-and-a-microphone effort (think John Mayer with a more upbeat drum beat) and reminds us that not all singer/songwriters dwell in the melancholy. The songs are catchy, but are also grounded in well-crafted lyrics.

This is the type of album you will want to listen to when you’re in a good mood and, even better, the type that will put you in a good mood when you listen it. He may have played a heartbreaker at the roller derby, but with this album, Landon delivers.

Also agree with #1. Every single time First Blood is on TV I watch it (which has been happening a lot on AMC). Just a damn good movie. Really original protagonist and some really good antagonists too.
