Will Sasso being sought after for THE THREE STOOGES
When you can’t get Benicio Del Toro, Jim Carrey, or Sean Penn, who do you call? Apparently, Will Sasso. THR has revealed that the former MadTV star is being sought after for a lead role in the upcoming Farrelly brothers feature, THE THREE STOOGES. Currently being set up at Fox, the film has been much talked about over the past few months, with various names being added or taken off of the project. Sasso has apparently been rumored to join the film’s cast for weeks now, and honestly, while it took a bit of getting used to on my part, I quite like this decision. Personally, while I was hoping the film would find bigger name talent, I can’t honestly think of a better choice for one of the three leads than a former MadTV star. That show was based a lot on slapstick humor, something the Stooges were masters of. Sasso has the build and the look to fit the role of someone like Moe, so while I’m a bit at a pause as to why this specific name was chosen (feels really random to me), it does make me much more interested in the project. What do you think?
