Willem Dafoe joining ODD THOMAS
Never let it be said that actor Willem Dafoe doesn’t love to vary his roles.
After starring in films ranging from SPIDER-MAN to ANTICHRIST, the always intriguing thespian has his sights set on yet another, vastly different role.
THR is reporting that the actor will be joining the upcoming thriller, ODD THOMAS, set to be helmed by G.I. JOE director Stephen Sommers. Starring Anton Yelchin and Addison Timlin, THOMAS is based on the Dean Koontz novel of the same name, and will follow “a short-order cook named Odd Thomas who can commune with the dead, a secret only his girlfriend (Addison Timlin) and the local police (Dafoe) chief know.”
While I’m not a fan of Sommers or any of his previous films, I do have a lot of hope with regards to this cast. Dafoe is a great actor, as are both Timlin and Yelchin. The premise itself is not all that interesting, but at this point, you really couldn’t ask for a better cast to get behind a project. Color me a bit intrigued.
