Woody Allen

After crafting three films around three of Europe’s biggest and most iconic cities in VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA (Barcelona), YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER (London), and MIDNIGHT IN PARIS (Paris), it looks like Woody Allen will be extending his stay on the other side of the pond.

Screen Daily has revealed (via The Playlist), that Rome has “emerged as the probable next stop” for the director, with the director confirming these very details (check out his full interview with La Repubblica here).

Now, while he’s arguably the most prolific filmmaker alive, he’s not one to reveal too many details prior to shooting, so at this point, we don’t really know much about the film. That said, I have really loved the last two European efforts from Allen, which is interesting, as he’s also had a U.S.-based film in between both BARCELONA and STRANGER, the rather poor and wholly uninteresting WHATEVER WORKS.

Allen is still very much one of the biggest names in film, so it’s hard to not get excited for a new film from him, even if they do come once a year.
