Woody Harrelson to star in THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ROSCOE
Coming off the success of ZOMBIELAND and an Oscar nomination for THE MESSENGER, Woody Harrelson pretty much has his pick of what he wants to do next. Apparently, Harrelson has chosen to star in THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ROSCOE. The film is set to be produced by Nicholas Tabarrok, who recently served as producer on DEFENDOR, Harrelson's latest film.
Tabarrok, who caught up with MovieWeb to talk about the future project, is describing the film as "a really funny, clever, con-artist movie." Harrelson will star as one of two con-artist brothers who are trying to steal the second book ever printed. The first would be the Bible, and the second "was an obscure Second Testament written by this guy named Roscoe." The brothers, who haven't been a thieving team in quite some time, join up again for this one final con.
The director, Jonathan Sobol, also wrote the screenplay. The two (Tabarrok and Sobol) are in post-production for Sobol's directorial debut right now. That film is titled A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO ENDINGS.
I don't want to speak for anyone else, but this sounds outrageously funny to me. Thoughts?
