YOGI BEAR gets a Ranger Jones
A couple of week ago we announced that Anna Faris, Dan Aykroyd, and Justin Timberlake had joined the cased of YOGI BEAR and now we have one more name to add to that list, comedian T.J. Miller. If he looks familiar, that’s because you briefly saw him in CLOVERFIELD. He played the funny, camera-wielding sidekick, Hud.
Miller will play the part of Ranger Jones, a character I don’t remember from the show (he doesn’t even have a section on Wikipedia). From his audition tape, Jones seems to be Ranger Smith’s sidekick. Of course that means that we’re still Ranger Smith-less.
I’m not sure if Miller is the right man for the job, but I gotta hand it to him for unique audition. He actually filmed himself (with the aid of director Jordan Vogt-Roberts) interacting with a live bear! Barry M. Meyer, chairman of Warner Bros., saw the tape and offered him the job. Watch his audition video after the jump.
